Grant Information and Assistance
If you are a member of a community group or a business that needs to source funding for a particular project, West Wimmera Shire Council’s Community, Business & Economic Development Department may be able to assist in sourcing possible grants through local, state and federal government grant opportunities and also the private sector funding opportunities.
West Wimmera Shire Council also provides ongoing grant information to the community using the following methods:
- "Our Community Easy Grants Newsletter" available for viewing at Edenhope & Kaniva Shire Offices.
- Talking Place - Each month a grant is highlighted in "The Talking Place" column printed in the Kaniva Times, West Wimmera Advocate, Goroke Free Press and leaflets distributed to general stores accross the Shire.
- Website - A "Grant Highlights" page highlighting some of the current grants available.
- Website - Links to funding bodies, government agencies and grant databases can be found on the Grant Links page.

West Wimmera Shire Council Grants
Council allocates funding for three grant opportunities for clubs, organisations and committees within the shire on an annual basis. These grants are only open for applications once a year.
This grant is to assist with funding towards larger projects. Groups within the shire may apply for funding from minimum of $5,500 (incl GST) on a $2:$1 basis.

This grant is open to groups, clubs and organisations within the shire and is to assist with infrastructure upgrade and/or maintenance. The maximum amount per applicant is $2,200 on a $1:$1 basis for projects that will be completed by 31st May 2012.

This grant is for one-off projects, a new component of an existing event/festival which has never been done before, “back to” celebrations and reunions. The maximum amount per applicant is $500 for events between 1st November 2011 and 30th October 2012.
